OPINIONS OF PUPILS FROM SOCIALLY RISK ENVIRONMENT REGARDING DRUG ADDICTION

Children and young people rank among the most endangered social groups. Not only do they go through an important stage of personality formation which could be influenced by many factors, but this phase of personal development influences, to a certain extent, their future lives and the possibility of a fully-fledged social integration. At this stage, children and young people develop stronger perceptual sensitivity of either positive or negative outer factors. These factors can have a stronger impact on children and young people living in an environment which the majority society perceives not as standard, but as a socially excluded, and hence unwanted, locality. The group of children and young people, especially the ones from socially excluded localities, are very often affected by the use of addictive substances. There is a big risk, that members of the group will become regular users of addicted substances which generate further negative effects. The dissertation is focused on the use of addictive substances by children living in socially excluded localities. Themes for Nature Excursions for Pupils of Grammar Schools in Ústí Region

The objective of this diploma thesis was to create suggestions of biological excursions for the pupils of the second grade of elementary schools in Ústí nad Labem region. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, excursion as the organisational form of education with the focus on the specifics of biological excursion including the educational goals and methods, is shortly introduced. In the following part, there is the characteristic of scientific disciplines and particular types of biological excursions. The practical part presents suggestions for three biological excursions. Each of the suggested subjects contains detailed manual for preparation and the process of excursion itself including the final part. Materials including the description of the route, information about the locality, worksheets including answers and additional information to each of the questions are also incorporated. Methods and Concepts of Teaching Geology at the Selected Primary Schools at the Ústí nad Labem Region

This MSc. thesis analyzes the attitude of 9th grade students and their teachers to geology, which is taught at lower secondary schools most often in the course of natural history. The thesis examines the connection between the teacher's interest in the subject and teaching forms, difficulty level of the subject and the student's interest in the subject. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the pedagogical terminology, concepts of the teaching, discusses special aspects of the teacher personality and specifics of geology as a scientific field of the subject in the education system. The research part is dealt with the description of the questionnaire and its evaluation, further it summarizes and discusses the results of the questionnaire survey among 202 students and 21 teachers from 10 elementary schools in the Ústí nad Labem Region. The questionnaire survey shows that teachers and students consider geology an important subject in terms of general education and possible use in practical life. It has also found that students do not take in geology as an interesting subject, but thanks to the creative teaching approach and using of variable methods by their teachers the geology has become acceptable for them. Analysis of Employment and Unmployment in Ústí nad Labem Region compared to the Czech Republic in 2007 - 2015

The thesis deals with the issue of employment and unemployment, including its socio- economic aspects in the Ústí nad Labem region compared to the Czech Republic between years 2007 and 2015. The theoretical part describes the nature of unemployment (breakdowns, causes, impacts, unemployment solution) including the impact of macroeconomic indicators, fiscal and monetary policies, with particular respect to active employment policy. The practical part includes the analysis of the Ústí nad Labem Region itself and its employment and unemployment, taking into account the benchmark of the Czech Republic with a polemic on the effectiveness of employment policy and its settings. The thesis implements the SWOT analysis of the Ústí nad Labem Region, which describes weaknesses and strengths and identifies individual opportunities and threats. The data were gained from the Czech Statistical Office and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.

Archaeology and tourism in Ústí nad Labem region

This thesis deals with archaeological tourism in the Ústí nad Labem region. Based on scientific literature, the general issues of archeology and tourism are analyzed. The result of this analysis points to the fact, that there are a lot of archaeological tourist destinations in this region. The most attractive ones are presented in this thesis in the form of a tour guide intended for the general public. An opinion poll was coducted as part of the thesis. Based on the poll we can assume that the general awareness of archeology and archaeological tourist destinations in the Ústí region is at an average level. It is safe to say that the public attitude towards archeology is generally positive. Czech castles are especially popular among the archaeological tourist destinations. The most convenient public presentation of archaeological sites is by using information boards with brief descriptions and vivid illustrations. The vast majority of interviewees indicated that they would welcome a higher degree of presentation of historical monuments in the Ústí nad Labem region - for example through a dedicated website. Causes of the higher unemployment in the Ústí nad Labem region

The aim of this diploma thesis is to find and analyze the causes of the higher than average levels of unemployment found in the Ústí nad Labem region. Recently, there has been great pressure to decrease of level unemployment throughout the Czech Republic. However, persistent levels of long term unemployment have plagued several regions of the CR such as the Ústí nad Labem. Despite concerted attempts to address them they have remained unchanged and will thus provide a useful focus for this paper. The theoretical part of this paper provides a description and explanation of the basic terms and principles that surround the problems of unemployment, a definition of its categories, and a description of the causes and consequences of long term unemployment. In addition, the paper describes several approaches of measuring unemployment. The second chapter contains a detailed commentary of each group based on unemployment statistics and a comparison to other similar groups in other European states. Finally, this part provides a synopsis of several groups in the labor market who have traditionally not responded to policies intended to relieve chronic unemployment and looks at how this has damaged their communities. The practical part of the paper is focused on the causes of unemployment in the Ústí nad Labem region. There are many possible causes such as the transformation from a centrally planned economy to a market economy, the limitations of coal mining in the region, a higher number of Romany people, lower education levels, high rate of long-term unemployment and other causes. Data was compiled from the Czech statistics office, programs of development from the Ústí nad Labem region, the Department of Labor, as well as expert analysis focused on labor market, and personal interviews with unemployment specialists. Descriptive, comparative and analytical methods are used in this part. An additional value of this thesis is an analysis of the structurally damaged region and an analytical evaluation that can be used in the process of developing program documents which will solve interventions included in determined competence of European Social Fund.

Úvodní studie projektu Integrovaný nadregionální systém nakládání s odpady s cílem úspory primárních přírodních zdrojů (INSNO)

Předkládaná studie představuje systém sběru, shromažďování, úpravy a zpracování odpadů především z komunální sféry v podobě dále využitelných paliv z odpadů a produktů využitelných jako technologický materiál pro úpravu skládek. Zvažuje možnosti uplatnění paliv z odpadů na trhu, definuje možné zdroje pro využívání paliv a potřebné kroky k tomu, aby tato paliva z odpadu mohla být využita jako náhrada přírodních zdrojů, především hnědého uhlí, případně zemního plynu. Cílem projektu je zajištění materiálového nebo energetického využití komunálního odpadu (KO) nebo výrobků vzniklých úpravou KO a dalších druhů energeticky využitelných odpadů (např. odpady dřeva, textilu, pneumatiky, podíly ze zpracování elektrošrotu, autovraků, nevyužitelný plast).

Možnosti a způsoby regenerace ploch brownfields s ohledem na environmentální optimalizaci urbanizovaných prostorů: Regenerace ploch brownfields - informační teze pro obce

V rámci řešení projektu "Možnosti a způsoby regenerace ploch brownfields s ohledem na environmentální optimalizaci urbanizovaných prostorů" byla získána řada informací a prověřeny postupy vedoucí k regeneraci ploch nazývaných "brownfields". Zobecněním vybraných aspektů a doplněním o další užitečné informace vznikly tyto informační teze. Jejich účelem je napomoci zejména obcím v řešení problematiky brownfields či alespoň v nastartování procesů vedoucích k přeměně zchátralých a nevyužitých areálů na životaschopnou substanci sídel. Jelikož do současnosti byla pozornost věnována především názorům, jak regenerovat brownfields nejčastěji pro výrobní účely, zaměřili se zpracovatelé se na skupinu brownfields méně popsanou, kterou představují brownfields s menším rozvojovým potenciálem, nejčastěji nevýrobního charakteru. Je definován problém brownfields s nevýrobním využitím, přiblíženy způsoby jejich evidence, uvedeny odkazy na metodické postupy přípravy projektů. Dále jsou zmíněny využitelné programy podpor a v neposlední řadě i nastíněny lokalizační a plošné parametry při rozhodování o substituci vybranými nevýrobními funkcemi. Teze jsou doplněny anotací pilotních projektů a vzorem pasportů pro evidenci lokalit.
